Description

SCEEP-report on economics of environmental protection for a federal oil shale leasing program. 204 pages. Digital PDF download. OS-01D

This report was prepared at the request of Thomas W. Ten Eyck, Director of Natural Resources of the State of Colorado, by a subcommittee of Governor John A. Love’s Oil Shale Advisory Committee, known as the “Special Committee on Economics of Environmental Protection” (SCEEP).

The report examines the impact of commercial oil shale operations on the natural resources of the Piceance Creek Basin and the related socio-economic consequences to determine whether or not a Federal leasing program can be initiated with adequate environmental safeguards.
